Fairs and festivals have been a huge part of American History over the past couple of hundred of years. One thing is for sure, Americans love to celebrate, compete, ride lots of rides and oh yes, EAT TONS OF FOOD!

State Fair Playing Cards bring out the best of the state fair experience. Not only do they highlight the wonderful past of a particular state, but they add a little more fun to the event.

Our first deck of cards is from our home state, Ohio! The Great Ohio State Fair is 150+ years old and has a wonderful history. From good to not so good, the fair is not only loaded with fun, but is loaded with history that shows some of the transitions we have gone through as a nation and as the State of Ohio.

About The Ohio State Fair Deck - Our 1st "State Fair" Deck

With this souvenir deck of playing cards we tried a little different layout than some of the others.
- Instead of using the oval images like they did many times back in the late 1800's, we stuck with the largest picture we could fit on each card.   This allowed us to feature more!
- Each card still includes information about what is on the card and an educational fact to help you learn about the fair.
- Each suit takes on a different theme too:
          Clubs - Highlight some of the people having fun on rides, in parades and more.
          Diamonds - Contain historic pictures and images to see where the fair has come from
          Hearts - Includes samples of medals, ribbons, fair bills and more.
          Spades - What would fair playing cards be without animals, nature, livestock and more.

This first deck will be available for the first time at the Ohio State Fair, 2006. If you want to get a deck you may want to stop by early! Our main booth will be located in The Marketplace...look for Newt's Playing Cards.
